Blount County Robotics — FRC Team 4504

We’re a student-led FIRST® Robotics Competition team building competitive robots, growing STEM leaders, and serving our community in Blount County, TN.

Our Mission Inspire young people to become science & technology leaders by engaging them in mentor-guided, student-run engineering, outreach, and business.

Programs

Build robots. Build leaders.

No experience required — we teach everything from the ground up.

Mechanical & CAD

Design in Onshape, prototype parts, manufacture with mills, lathes, and 3D printers.

Electrical & Controls

Wire robots safely, crimp like a pro, configure REV/CTR hardware, and keep it competition-ready.

Software & Strategy

Python/RobotPy codebase, command-based, path planning, vision, scouting, and match strategy.

Business & Media

Branding, social, sponsor relations, grant writing, photography, and event logistics.

Community Outreach

STEM demos at schools & libraries, summer camps, and volunteer initiatives.

Leadership

Student project management, subteam leads, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Kickoff (Jan)

Who can join?

High school students in Blount County. No prior experience required.

Time commitment?

Off-season: 1–2 days/week. Build season: 2–4 days/week plus events.

Cost to participate?

Currently our dues are set at $100. Need-based assistance available.

Do I need experience?

Nope. We teach CAD, coding, tools, safety, and project workflow.
